The Spray Tanning Process

What is Spray Tanning?

Spray tanning, also known as airbrush tanning or sunless tanning, is a tanning effect that is applied to the skin. I apply the tan effect with an airbrush. The tan effect is achieved without the use of a tanning bed or the sun. The tan usually lasts between 5 to 7 days.

Why Spray Tan?

Spray tanning is much safer than sun bathing or sun beds as the spray tanning product does not emit UV radiation.

Pre-Tanning Prep:

Before you tan, shower, shave, and exfoliate. No makeup, deodorant or lotion should be applied before tanning.

The Process:

Spray tanning only takes 20 to 30 minutes, and is done in your own home. I'll bring everything I need to apply your new spray tan, including a portable station that protects your home from the tanning product.

Post-Tan Care:

Lightly rinse your hands one hour after your spray tan. Wait anywhere from 4 to 24 hours to shower depending upon how dark you desire your tan. A tan will last 5-7 days. Apply lotion once a day for the longevity of your tan.

The Spray Tanning Product

I use Aussie Bronze

Aussie Bronze has macadamia nut oil.

Aussie Revive is a nut-free solution.

Please read all ingredients for tanning solution and let the airbrush technician know of any allergies prior to tanning. TanMD and the technician is not responsible for any allergic reactions that may occur due to any allergic reactions to the solution.

Although the tanning solution is water soluble and will wash out of most fabrics, TanMD is NOT responsible for any clothing that may be stained after tanning.

Please note: This product does not contain sunscreens and does not protect against sunburn. UV-exposure from the sun can lead to skin cancer and premature aging, even if you don't burn. I recommend a good SPF lotion when you plan to be out in the sun for any lengthy period.

About Me

Why I started TanMD:

In 2008, I was diagnosed with skin cancer. Skin cancer from tanning beds and sun bathing. After I had the cancer removed, I thought there had to be a safer way to get a tan. I started visiting tanning salons and getting spray-tanned. However, it is sometimes inconvenient to go to a salon to get a spray tan. Sometimes, it's just more convenient to have the spray tan salon come to you 🙂

About me:

My name is Miriah. I was born in Dallas, Texas in 1986. I moved to Colorado in 1994.

In 2006, I graduated from Cheeks International School of Beauty Esthetics. I started my beauty journey at Maya Bleu Salon and Spa applying facials and make-up.

Finding my love for natural product, I found my next beauty adventure at TEN Aveda Salon and Spa from 2008 to 2009.

In 2009, I found my beauty home with Paul Chet Studio.

I have competed in the Miss USA Colorado Pageant.

I've been a cheerleader from when I was 6 years old to semi-pro football for the Northern Colorado Wolfpack.

My interests:

My interests include art, museums, make-up, fashion, hunting, fishing, camping, and all outdoor activities.
I enjoy hanging-out with my dog Lola 🙂
